The Elizabethtown
Historical Society
The little brick schoolhouse, tucked in snugly between
Peach Alley and South Poplar Street, a structure well-established in history,
is the restored one-room school house that the Elizabethtown Historical
Society calls home. The Society meets the third Tuesday evening of each
month, September through May, in the modern annex adjacent to the school
house. The doors open at 7:00 pm sharp as members and welcome guests gather
to socialize, enjoy light refreshments and review the exhibit highlighting
that evening’s topic. The monthly programs feature historical topics
that have a wide range of appeal to residents of Elizabethtown and surrounding
communities.
